One of the biggest trends for body art in recent year has to be that for rib tattoos which have become a hot spot for tattoo placement of late. Not only does this particular body art provide a suitably large canvas for the tattooist to create an elaborately detailed work of art but it is also ideal to display or conceal as you wish. However, before we look at this particular type of tattoo in more detail there is one important drawback that May put some off completely and have others seriously considering alternative body parts instead.
Painful due to Placement
This is, of course, the pain factor as this is deemed to be one of the most painful places to have a tattoo so if you have a low tolerance for pain then this is definitely not for you. Remember also, that the larger the tattoo design you choose then the more work will be involved which means your tattoo will take longer to complete and the pain will have to be endured for considerably longer than other smaller body art designs in other places.
The rib cage is a notoriously bony part of the body with less tissue and padding between skin and bone so you really will feel every nip of the tattooist’s needle as it penetrates. There are many fantastic designs for rib tattoos to suit both men and women, as this is one placement that is not predominantly selected by either one sex or the other. Most of these designs are fairly large and often run from the hip all the way up the ribs to the side of the breast for women while their male counterparts may extend theirs up onto the chest or shoulder too.
